by Shane Henson — October 26, 2012—The Mohawk Group is seeking to reinvigorate commercial settings with Power Surge, a broadloom and modular carpet collection designed to integrate softened geometrics with high-luster yarn to elevate visual synergy.
Sparked by today’s multigenerational corporate world, the company says it created Power Surge to meet the needs of all generations, from Baby Boomers to Millennials, and to encourage joint collaboration through coordinated design. As a result, the collection bridges the generational gap by accommodating open floor layouts commonly found in today’s workplaces, allowing designers to fuse diverse spaces and ideas.
Facilities managers can choose from different patterns within the collection to create the look they want for spaces within a building, be it a workspace, conference room or lobby. The patterns, Amplitude and Frequency (broadloom) and Wavelength (broadloom and modular), feature highly complex horizontal pattern articulation that gently emerges and disappears to elevate textured loop carpet to a whole new dimension, says Mohawk.
Marrying modern motifs with traditional style to support connectivity throughout a space, Power Surge also provides buyers with a broad spectrum of 13 invigorating colorways that bring its subtle patterns to life with tonal and neutral palettes, says the company.
Manufactured with the latest in sustainable flooring innovation, Power Surge broadloom products feature the Mohawk Group’s Unibond Flex, which is created with 15 percent post-consumer recycled content and is Platinum NSF/ANSI-140 certified. Modular products are backed by the company’s EcoFlex ICT, an ultra-dense, five-layer backing system reportedly containing 35 percent pre-consumer recycled content.
