by Ann Withanee — July 2, 2012—Southern California-based Encore has expanded its already expansive range of offerings with a collection of modern, multifaceted products called Mozie Guest. While the extensive collection was designed with the increasing significance and growth of the healthcare market in mind, Encore says that Mozie is equally applicable to public seating requirements across various facilities, from hospitality to corporate offices.

Moderately priced Mozie marks the debut of not one, but two new categories for Encore: tandem seating and occasional tables. Designed by the Encore design team and now available for purchase, the seating and table group took star billing in Encore’s showroom at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago, during NeoCon, the annual exposition of contract furniture and furnishings in North America.

Arm and armless guest and tandem chairs come in standard and bariatric sizes with an open back for easy cleaning or a closed back option. All are fully upholstered, with an elliptical tubular steel frame finished in Metallic Silver, Black, or new Graphite. As stand-alone pieces or in tandem configurations, bariatric chairs are designed with a generously proportioned seat and back as well as a reinforced frame that accommodates up to 500 pounds. To satisfy individual requirements, tandem configurations can be created with any number of chair-to-table connections, while an optional ganging bracket can connect individual chairs with ease.

The Mozie stand-alone guest chairs have convenient stacking capabilities: four-high standing with ease or five-high with optional dolly. Options include a ganging device, glides and casters.

Connecting tables, available in 9-inch straight, 18-inch straight and 90-degree sizes, allow for a variety of large or small-scale arrangements. Freestanding occasional tables are offered in five standard dimensions, including a coffee table option. Finish selections are eight Corian solid surface colors and 12 laminate finishes. While both surfaces provide long lasting durability appropriate for public spaces and vigorous use, Corian has the added benefit of renewability as scuff marks and scratches can be easily buffed or sanded to restore its original appearance. Nontoxic, non-allergenic and Greenguard Indoor Air Quality certified, Corian also contributes to sustainable design.
