by Ann Withanee — June 25, 2012—A star attraction in the Tandus Flooring, Inc., showroom at The Merchandise Mart during NeoCon 2012 in June was the company’s newest collection of broadloom carpets called Needle Tech Collection. With a design not usually associated with broadlooms, Needle Tech received a Gold Award in the Best of NeoCon product competition.

The Needle Tech Collection consists of four unique styles designed using Tandus Flooring’s Dynex SD Lustre, a beautiful high-luster fiber used in conjunction with low-luster Dynex SD. The use of high and low lusters projects a craft-like, handmade construction found in needlepoint and crochet but without compromise to performance.

“We are able to utilize high- and low-luster solution-dyed fibers giving the 100 percent loop construction of the Collection the look of luxurious cut loop,” said Terry Mowers, Chief Creative Officer, Tandus Flooring. “These varying levels of luster create color and definition and a textural look of a handcrafted broadloom.”

The Needle Tech Collection exemplifies the Tandus approach in creating innovative floorcovering solutions for spaces for learning, working, healing and living. With leading-edge technology, Tandus explains, it has been an environmental leader in the floorcovering arena. He adds that for more than 40 years, Tandus Flooring has examined a better way to be a better corporate and environmental steward, and takes actions that lead to demonstrable, meaningful, quantifiable results.
