by Brianna Crandall — July 1, 2013—Koncept Technologies, an innovator in residential and commercial light-emitting diode (LED) lighting solutions, recently announced that its new Mosso Pro LED Desk Lamp and Tono LED Mood Light were honored with the Best of NeoCon 2013 Gold Award in the Lighting: Task/Desktop category and Lighting: Decorative category, respectively. The annual NeoCon show features new designs and products by office furniture designers and manufacturers, and the annual awards honor the best innovations and designs for new products in 34 categories. This is Koncept’s third consecutive year to win a Best of NeoCon award, and the first year for two Gold Awards.
Combining the latest LED technology with ultra-efficient driver circuits and cleverly designed optics, Gold winner Mosso Pro delivers 90 lumens per watt, which Koncept says is unprecedented for an LED desk lamp. Users can tune its color from warm (3500K) to cool (5000 K) and anything in between. Carefully selected LED sources and smart circuitry allow for smooth light transition.
With the goal of becoming the most efficient and flexible modular desk lamp on the market, Mosso Pro has long, flexible arms for lighting flexibility, and the LED head swivels up and down and twirls 360 degrees to shine light at any angle. Brightness is controlled by an intuitive touchstrip for dimming and turning on and off. The LEDs have a lifespan of 50,000 hours, which the company says means eight hours a day for 17 years. Available options include an occupancy sensor, wireless charging base for smart phones, and multiple mounting options.
Launched in early 2013, Gold winner Tono LED Mood Light is a decorative floor lamp featuring 126 LEDs, which are capable of displaying both white light and color light. Not only can the white light be adjusted from a warm (~2,700 K) to a cool (~8,000 K) light, but the lamp can also cycle through 1,500 light color combinations of red, green, and blue, allowing the user to add a soft glow to a space, or splash any desirable color onto walls and furniture.
All of the adjustments can be made using the intuitive built-in touch slider and three touch buttons. The touch slider also allows the user to turn the lamp on and off, and to dim the light to the desired brightness level.
Tono is 48 inches in height, and only one inch in thickness. The lamp is offered in a sleek, glossy White finish. Even with the high number of LEDs, Tono consumes only 18 watts and puts out approximately 600 lumens. The LEDs are rated to last 10,000 hours, which Koncept calculates will last nine years assuming three hours of daily use.
