NeoCon 2013 Preview: Jasper Group brands unveil sophisticated, bold casework and seating products

by Shane Henson — April 19, 2013—Seating and casegoods manufacturer Jasper Group brands JSI and Community hope to capture attention with their product introductions for the NeoCon 2013 contract furniture and furnishings show to be held in June in Chicago. JSI will launch BeSPACE, a new casework and seating line, as well as product enhancements to its existing Connect and Protocol lines. Community is adding heights and options to its existing Wink seating line.

BeSPACE

Designed by Q Design, JSI’s BeSPACE casework and seating line combines the “romance” of bent plywood with flawless upholstery details to create an approachable, classic offering. BeSPACE freestanding and modular lounge seating pieces, ottomans, pods, tables, media cabinets and credenzas feature high design and high comfort. Metal tubular legs intersect with wooden chair frames while bent plywood cradles the upholstery to create a mixed materials showcase. Wood or glass tables can be added for another element of visual stimulation, says JSI.

The line’s credenzas feature integrated seat cushions on molded plywood to extend the contoured detail and create a fluent offering. Drawer and door options along with varied sizes allow users to configure storage units to create beautiful places to meet and gather while adding function and class to any space.

JSI’s Connect line can be used to create serpentine shapes that flow from one area to another.

Connect

FMs in the market for new furniture may also find that Connect, by JSI, has all of the lounge seating parts and pieces they need to create the right atmosphere, in the right space, with the right components. Now featuring linear and curved seating in five back heights, Connect extends its functionality with new shapes and versatile pieces. Tables, benches and media cabinets also transition this product line from just lounge furniture to so much more, JSI says. Connect was designed by David Gutgsell.

JSI’s expanded Protocol line of executive and conference chairs now features a management-height swivel chair with a flexible mesh back for comfort and support.

Protocol

Those searching for the right chair for executives, management and conference rooms could find JSI’s Protocol to be just what they need. Designed by Michael Shields, the newly expanded offering now features a management-height swivel chair with a flexible mesh back for comfort and support. With this expansion of the Protocol line, a metal handle has been added to the extreme back to aid in movement and reconfiguration. This lighter scale option is available with the standard T arm and as armless, as well as a new, graceful loop arm. Base options include black polyurethane or optional aluminum base. The complete Protocol offering includes optional wood crown and wood arm caps, says JSI.

FMs can add a splash of color with Community’s Wink seating line, available in 5 wood, 5 solid, and 3 translucent colors, with optional upholstered seats.

Wink

Not to be outdone, Community’s Wink seating, designed by Claus Breinholt, unites innovative construction with a relaxed and comfortable sit. With new color additions, bar and counter height stools, and armless options, Wink is more versatile than ever. By expanding the offering, Wink now has three heights in arm and armless versions to outfit any space in any color profile. Buyers can make a statement, add elegance or promote playfulness by choosing the right colors. Vibrant solid colors (green, red, orange, white, black and grey) instantly brighten any area. Translucent colors (smoke grey, yellow, violet and clear) create a subtle design statement. Wink wood adds a natural, yet unexpected feel to any space, says Community.
