NeoCon 2014: Knoll software measures and analyzes space utilization and work patterns

by Brianna Crandall — June 25, 2014—At NeoCon 2014 in Chicago two weeks ago, in addition to Knoll’s three Gold and two Silver Awards in the Best of NeoCon Competition covered previously on FMLink, Knoll and KnollTextiles showcased space utilization software and several other new and enhanced products, some of which are detailed below. Knoll used its NeoCon showroom to present its “r/evolution workplace” platform to reimagine the workplace.

Bounce by Knoll software and app

Knoll debuted software developed in partnership with Estimote, a tech start-up building a digital platform to bring content and context to people’s current location. The new Bounce by Knoll monitors, measures and analyzes space utilization and the work patterns of the office, and offers a digital user engagement platform.

The software uses wireless beacon-driven technology that operates in tandem with smartphones based on a user’s micro-location to exchange data and information. The app will enable real estate, facilities and design professionals to learn from and plan based on space utilization metrics. Bounce is available free to download from the iTunes App Store.

Knoll’s k. lounge series features 11 configurable lounge elements that offer broad planning capabilities for soft-seating needs in “Activity Spaces.”
