by Brianna Crandall — June 18, 2014—Continuing the FMLink coverage of Teknion Corporation at the NeoCon commercial interiors show last week in Chicago, the company earned a Gold Award in the Architectural Products category for its new Lite Wall screens product in the prestigious Best of NeoCon Competition.

Designed by Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk, Lite Wall is a series of lightweight screens that respond to varying needs of the open office. Using magnets, Lite Wall easily reconfigures without tools or any visible connections. Varying screen heights accommodate standing, sitting, lounge and other critical datum lines in the system/office landscape.

Lite Wall is one of several 2014 additions to the Teknion Studio portfolio of sofas and lounge seating, guest seating, tables and screens designed by Jeffrey Bernett, Nicholas Dodziuk and Mario Ruiz. Teknion Studio products are designed in response to the new demands for open areas and group workspaces in today’s evolving work environment.

Pai Compact Lounge

The Pai family of sofas features a compact concept and reduced size. As the culture of work continues to change, an ongoing evolution in workspace planning and need for new types of furniture programs will address new demands created by group and community work areas. Pai creates a new level of planning in small spaces.

Periodic Sofa System

Periodic is the ultimate seating solution for multiple applications. With a diverse, almost infinite set of configurations from islands, small and large, to more traditional reception or suite applications, Periodic offers flexibility for most seating needs. Periodic was designed to support planning for ad-hoc and collaborative spaces.

Noka Chair Collection

Noka was designed to elegantly mirror and reflect the dynamics of today’s workplace. Made from solid timber, the collection is both sturdy and lightweight, supporting mobility and constantly shifting environments from individual to collaborative work. Noka’s clean lines visually balance the chairs for individual use and in groupings, private office and open plan.

Juntura Guest Seating

In contemporary workspaces, there is a new set of seating demands for different styles and heights of postures, including a traditional worksurface height of 29 inches, a counter height of 34 inches and a bar height of 40 inches. Juntura—comprising an armchair, chair and stool with or without back support—is designed to address these needs.

Kogen Tables

Defined by floating horizontal surface planes and a refined wire base, Kogen tables are well-suited for traditional offices, collaborative and public settings. Kogen is simple enough to occupy a space and share it equally with other more bold pieces, yet remain highly functional and take center stage through its high level of craft and sophistication.

Periodic sofa, Noka chair, Kogen table and Lite Wall were designed by Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk. Pai lounge and Juntura guest seating were designed by Mario Ruiz.
