NeoCon 2014 preview: Versteel launches collaborative media stations, tables, chairs

by Brianna Crandall — May 30, 2014—Versteel, Indiana-based designer and manufacturer of high-quality products and solutions in the furniture industry for nearly 60 years, has announced three new product lines in time for the NeoCon contract furnishings show in Chicago June 9-11. These product lines and others will be featured in the Versteel NeoCon Showroom (#1093) and will be available on June 10.

Eliga credenza

Eliga is a collaborative line of floor- and wall-mounted credenzas as well as media centers that has a cross-functional design and sleek aesthetic to match a myriad of settings. The entire line allows designers to deliver a complete workspace design vision with clean, crisp, contemporary aesthetics for casual collaboration.

Eliga provides multiple options for configurations within the units, including one-, two- or three-drawer and door options, and open access. Material options include laminate, veneer and a new line of six standard glass color offerings for the drawers including: Cabana, Cherry, Coconut, Fog, Green Apple, and Sea Salt. Interior drawer and door configurations offer storage for various components used in meeting or conference environments. Eliga also enables media to be integrated into a changing environment.

Created by Dan Grabowski, Eliga can be customized for distinct environments and client needs including: video conference rooms, conference spaces, training rooms, meeting spaces, lobby/entryway and reception desks.

The durable yet beautiful Platform table series offers numerous options to create a table with a unique shape and look.

The Platform table series was designed to be durable, yet beautiful, with numerous options to create a table with a unique look. By choosing base styles, column and top styles, platform tables can be built to fit any space beautifully, whether it is corporate, healthcare, education or hospitality environments. Building on a 3/8″ steel base, platform tables are available in disc, square and rectangle base styles with round, square or conference tube columns.

Complete the table by choosing from round, square or rectangle top shapes consisting of 45-50 lb. particle board surfaced with a high pressure laminate or veneer face with a backer sheet laminated to the underside of the top for balanced construction. Stand-up table heights are also available.

Power and data options are available for quick connection. Platform is level 2 certified under the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard, and is ETL Environmental VOC Certified by utilizing powder coated steel and Carb II Compliant wood to help minimize the effect on indoor air quality. The Versteel design team creating the Platform series was guided by Design for the Environment (DfE) principles incorporating aspects like recycled content and end-of-life strategies.

Designed by Dan Grabowski, the Sate chair is said to have a beautiful, modern design with flex motion that allows for continual support for users. The thin profile with clean lines makes it lightweight yet a structurally sound solution. Sate is also a stack chair, which allows for a more efficient use of space. The innovative design combined with a contemporary look make it suitable for multiple applications and a myriad of environments including corporate, healthcare, education and hospitality.

Sate utilizes a cold-rolled steel tube stock for the frame and the highest quality poly or veneer shell to provide strength and durability, says Versteel. Polyshell color options include near black, snow, cobalt, salsa, canary, lime and papaya, and all Versteel standard veneers are available. An upholstery option is available on seats for color, texture and comfort. Featuring a standard or stool height (24″ and 29″) sled base, Sate is available with or without arms, and with an optional tablet arm.

Sate easily stacks to create a clean, open environment when not in use. The chair reportedly exceeds all ANSI/BIFMA test standards. Also adhering to strict environmental standards, Sate is made from recycled contents and designed to be disassembled and recycled at end of life. The chair was designed with Design for Environment (DFE) goals and is BIFMA level 2 and Intertek VOC certified.
