by Brianna Crandall — June 24, 2015—Belgium-based BuzziSpace is once again bringing eco-friendly silence and its warm sense of style to the office space with its BuzziFalls floating acoustic walls. The dividers won Gold in the Best of NeoCon Competition at last week’s NeoCon contract furnishings show in Chicago. Two other products introduced at NeoCon as entrants in the competition are also described below.
BuzziFalls
Designed to tackle the challenges unique to open-floor plan environments, BuzziFalls is an elegant art piece and room dividing solution in one, by Sas Adriaenssens. Myriad intricate patterns referencing art, architecture, nature and urban cityscapes are CNC-cut into two layers of adjoined BuzziFelt.
BuzziFelt is BuzziSpace’s premiere acoustic and sustainable material, which covers all the company’s products. The layered eco felt material, which has both sound-reducing and sound-absorbing properties, is designed to dampen sounds in office spaces as well as in home environments without losing sight of the tactile factor and design quotient. The eco-friendly material consists of 100% upcycled plastic bottle waste.
The new BuzziFalls product can serve as a decorative room divider or be hung in front of a wall, acting as dimensional wallpaper with acoustical properties. BuzziFalls is available in a fixed width (80 cm) and two fixed lengths (220 cm or 250 cm). Designed to be hung from a ceiling fixture, it comes with a metal profile and a set of cables. BuzziFalls is available in seven motifs: Birch, Alhambra, Rain, Orient, Leaf, Royal and Skyline (available as a triptych).
BuzziDonut Light
BuzziSpace’s Best of NeoCon entrant in the Lighting: Decorative category, the BuzziDonut Light is a new approach to blending light and sound, showing the company’s touch of tasteful whimsy. Made from acoustic, eco-friendly materials and sporting a contemporary design, BuzziDonut Light is a multipurpose fixture designed to enhance the modern office environment.
BuzziDonut has a hole in its center to allow flexibility to customize with decorative hanging bulbs or flush-fit light options. The BuzziDonut Light Stack offers a new multi-layer configuration. The hanging structure enables multiple BuzziDonuts in varying sizes to hang stacked together, creating a sculptural statement piece.
BuzziBreeze
Following the success of the BuzziPicNic table, which won an Editors’ Choice award in last year’s competition, BuzziSpace’s Best of NeoCon entrant in the new Furniture Collections for Collaboration category answers the call for an outdoor workstation that captures the collaborative needs of the modern workplace.
Designed in partnership with Belgian-based Cassecroute, BuzziBreeze offers teams the flexibility to bring their work outdoors. Inspired by the classic communal table, the design is meant to facilitate easy collaboration among co-workers, much like a lunch table. BuzziBreeze is made of an ultraviolet (UV)-resistant, powder-coated metal frame, with either a weather-resistant hardwood top and set, or folded aluminum profile.
