by Brianna Crandall — July 8, 2015—SIXINCH North America, Belgium-founded designer and manufacturer of modern, coated foam furniture and architectural solutions, recently announced the brand’s expansion into “site furnishings” as a new product segment, designed for use in multiple environments.

The new Grove by SIXINCH collection brought home a Gold Award and an Innovation Award in the Furniture Collections for Collaboration category of the Best of NeoCon Competition in last month’s NeoCon 2015 contract furnishings show in Chicago, and the solar-powered Lilly shade garnered a Silver Award in the Technology Support category.

Grove by SIXINCH is a collection of furniture products and accessories designed to enable “activation” of outdoor spaces. Uniquely formed from “honest materials,” Grove allows users to meet in nature, with both shade and solar power to complete a broad seating and table collection of all-weather surfaces to augment almost any work or on-the-go environment. The introduction of Grove will help organizations harness the healthy benefits of meeting, working, and learning in natural surroundings, says the company.

In addition, SIXINCH partnered with Goal Zero, a thought leader in the perfection and distribution of integrated solar power, to create the Grove Lilly solar shade. The Lilly shade with integrated solar components is a perfect blend for a high-functioning, diversely connected population, says the company. Designed for public and private settings, it provides an easy access to power with the collection’s blended approach.

“The combination of earth-bound seating surfaces, shade and solar power all suitable for the urban landscape is an idealistic goal, and one we have achieved with a strong sense of design and place,” said Chris Crowley, AVP Sales for SIXINCH North America, LLC. “I am very enthusiastic about the reviews we have already received from our existing client base, but I believe this will resonate beyond our current roster of clients, as it is a collection that was just begging to be launched.”
