by Brianna Crandall — July 22, 2015—To enhance idea generation and collaboration, dry erase paint creator IdeaPaint announced PULL, a magnetic, writeable solution for the office or home, as well as Bounce, a mobile app that lets people take their big ideas with them, at the NeoCon 2015 contract furnishings show in June.
PULL
The PULL system is a magnetic, writeable solution for the office or home that pairs IdeaPaint’s premium dry erase coatings with a powerful magnetic wallcovering to blend in seamlessly with any design or décor.
“When visiting our clients, and even in our own office, we found that people are constantly taping or sticking things to the walls. They love having the ability to write on the walls, but sometimes you need to add in different elements. That’s where a magnetic surface can bring collaboration to a whole new level,” said John Stephans, CEO, IdeaPaint.
“We designed the PULL system to enable users to easily add papers, architectural drawings, photos, fabric swatches, and much more to their creative process — it gives them the flexibility they need to innovate,” continued Stephans.
The PULL system consists of a patented magnetically active wallcovering, which is applied to the wall before coating with IdeaPaint. Installation is simple, as PULL can be cut to fit virtually any space, and can be primed and painted like any other surface. PULL is recommended for offices, conference rooms, schools, planning centers, studios and more.
IdeaPaint says its PULL magnetic solution is faster to apply and has more magnetic strength than a conventional magnetic paint. In addition, it is highly durable and results in seamless, smooth walls equipped with magnetic and dry erase functionality. PULL also will not “ghost” or tear like traditional vinyl magnetic surfaces. It is engineered to be environmentally friendly, and contributes toward LEED certification.
Bounce
The Bounce mobile app is designed to let people take their big ideas with them. Developed with Hill Holliday’s Project Beacon, the new app allows users to capture, edit, organize, and share the output of work sessions, meetings and brainstorms. With Bounce, individuals and teams can annotate and evolve their ideas, as well as view and download images online or via mobile devices.
The simple, intuitive interface removes barriers to more effective collaboration by allowing team members to easily assign tasks, refer back to key moments of a work session, build on each others’ ideas, and move forward together on projects.
“Working closely with our customers, we learned that one of their biggest pain points was having a fantastic brainstorm session on their Idea Walls and then not being able to properly capture those ideas, and move them to the next step of the ideation process,” said John Stephans, CEO, IdeaPaint. “This app aims to solve the problems hindering greater collaboration.”
Bounce was co-created with IdeaPaint users, enabling the app to meet their unique needs. Hill Holiday says the app has the potential to transform the way people ideate, problem solve, and create as teams. IdeaPaint lets users get big ideas out of their heads and onto an entire wall, where they can be explored and developed with others, and Bounce makes sure those big ideas live on.
