by Brianna Crandall — July 10, 2015—Office and industrial lighting designer and manufacturer Light Corporation recently introduced Tino, an asymmetrical personal light-emitting diode (LED) task light. Showcased at NeoCon 2015 last month in Chicago, Light Corp’s Tino is designed to bring a new approach to lighting a work surface by changing the way light reaches the user, throwing illumination one foot forward.

Using the asymmetrical light distribution design, Tino illuminates the work surface where it is needed without directly hovering over it, allowing the user to have 90 foot-candles of light up to one foot in front of the light’s head. Tino is designed to mount to system dividers, freeing up desktop space and staying out of the user’s way. A Tino model with a free-standing base is available as well.

While always providing an ample amount of workspace light, Tino’s touch-and-hold dimming pad, 4.2-watt system uses little power even at full 390 lumen light output. Along with seven fractional LEDs rated for a 50,000-hour lifespan, Tino comes with a 10-year warranty. Every Tino also comes standard with an energy-saving occupancy sensor. Tino will never waste energy because it is only on when it is being used, says the company.

Tino is available in three standard colors: White, Silver, and Black. Light Corporation says that Tino is available for purchase now.
