by Brianna Crandall — June 17, 2016 — Workplace power solutions provider Dekko (formerly “Group Dekko”) has just announced that its Low Voltage System (LVS) earned a Gold Award in the Workplace Technologies category and a Silver Award in the Technology-Integrated Solutions category of the Best of NeoCon 2016 [see FMLink article] annual contract furniture industry competition. Established in 1952, Dekko has a long history of providing electrical distribution systems and charging devices to the office furniture market. In 2015 Dekko won a Best of NeoCon Gold Award for the Ashley Trio Bezel.
The 2016 double-award-winning Low Voltage System is a flexible and holistic solution that brings 2.4 Amp USB charging to 3, 4, and 8 locations, with 6, 8 and 16 ports in total. Dekko says it is easy to add on or integrate into furniture designs with its discrete, small, slender modules and 16 Gage DC jumper cables. LVS can span a 12’ radius from one power supply and an additional 12’ from a power splitter, allowing for flexibility in design. The globally UL listed power supply allows the system to be used in foreign markets by simply changing the AC power cord.

The intelligence also includes lights on the module — green for fully functioning and yellow for caution — to check the system for secure connections to ensure full charging power is being delivered. The intelligence also knows when to shut the device down to protect the module’s charging capability from, for example, incorrect installation.

In addition to the Low Voltage System, Dekko also entered four new products in Best of NeoCon, including expansion of the Ashley power tap family with two new models: Ashley Duo Air, which opens or closes flush to a surface helped by a gas strut mechanism to close “as quiet as air,” and the Ashley Duo Wedge, in an always-open wedge position designed with a durable housing for heavy use environments like education and public spaces; as well as a new conference room line: Stafford and Stafford Mini.
All of Dekko’s products offer the highest level of USB charging, at 2.1 Amps per port for Ashley and Stafford, and a superfast charging capability of 2.4 Amps that is new to the office furniture market on the Low Voltage System.
