June 17, 2009—Teknion’s new FX workplace accessories collection supports personalization of space and new technology in today’s emerging workplace trends of more compact work environments, the need for an individual’s personalization of space, and the support of advanced workplace technology. The FX collection was awarded Silver in The Best of NeoCon product competition, held during NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart in June.

Designed by Carl Gustav Magnusson, FX also embraces a growing number of workers transitioning from private offices into open plan spaces. FX was designed to add functionality to a workstation while making the most out of small spaces and allowing the user to create a more personalized place within a corporate environment.

Teknion, working collaboratively with Powermat, has embedded the Powermat in some of its products. Powermat enables several devices to be charged simultaneously simply by placing them on the Powermat.

The FX collection includes a number of enhancements. A Personal Charger, using the Powermat, is a shelf that solves changing PDA requirements in an unobtrusive manner. It frees up valuable workspace by relocating the recharging electronic devices up off the desktop and eliminating the typical wiring mess. Another support of new technology is the headphone hook for headphones while organizing the coiled wire and jack on the hook below.

Among other enhancements are Personal Box for smaller personal items, and a lockable utility drawer. A variety of table rails enable FX components to be mounted above the worksurface. A slim aluminum channel neatly organizes various FX Office Organizers on the desktop.

The FX Accessories collection is part of Teknion’s Complements Ergonomics & Accessories Program.

The Best of NeoCon product competition is sponsored by Contract magazine, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), The International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and McMorrowReport.com.
