by AF 0617 h3 — June 21, 2010—The new 6-Top Table is a hospitable extension of the Dewey collection from Fixtures Furniture by izzy+ for educational solutions. It won a Gold in the Education Solutions category in The Best of NeoCon competition, at The Merchandise Mart during NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in June.

Inspired by the changes in working and learning patterns found in universities, the Dewey 6-Top Table adds a spur-of-the-moment gathering place for up to six people to meet and use technology in the classroom, library or student union.

The 6-Top Table brings people closer for team collaboration by reducing the standard conference table footprint. An optional marker board surface allows note-taking, sketching and idea-sharing.

Designed by Chuck Saylor of izzy+ and Joey Ruiter of JRuiter Studio, the 6-Top Table can stand alone, pair with the Dewey 27-inch depth table to build wing configurations, or link to other 6-Top Tables. It also functions as a meeting table in the CEO’s office, allowing users to sit (29 inches) or stand (42 inches).

The 6-Top Table offers hard-wearing design, with urethane edges and power coated aluminum parts. Fasteners — no welds — enable easy service and maintenance.

The Best of NeoCon product competition is sponsored by Contract Magazine; IIDA (International Interior Design Association); IFMA (International Facility Management Association); MMPI (The Merchandise Mart); and the McMorrow Report.
