by AF 0620 e3 — June 21, 2010—Tandus Flooring received Gold in The Best of NeoCon product competition for its Urban Nature Powerbond Hybrid Resilient flooring. The award was given during NeoCon World’s Trade Fair at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago.

Powerbond is not carpet. It is Tandus Flooring’s hybrid resilient sheet flooring of VCTT (Variable Cushion Tufted Textile). Powerbond is a heterogeneous construction utilizing the proven performance of a closed cell cushion resilient sheet and a nylon wear layer permanently fused together under heat and pressure. The DNA of Powerbond is its resilient closed cell cushion that provides decades of unfaltering performance, as well as thermal, acoustical and environmental attributes, notes Tandus. Powerbond was introduced into the commercial market in 1967 and installations still exist without need of replacement.

Powerbond has evolved to become a design medium for all market segments due to its ability to be inlayed in various coordinating patterns and colors.

The Best of NeoCon competition is sponsored by Contract Magazine; IIDA (International Interior Design Association); IFMA (International Facility Management Association); MMPI (The Merchandise Mart); McMorrow Report.
