by AF 0620 b3 — June 28, 2010—MechoShade Systems has introduced the Urban Shade System, a competitively priced, high-design window covering that the company says is easily reconfigured in the field for specific site conditions. UrbanShade received a Gold in the Window Treatments category in the Best of NeoCon product competition held during NeoCon World’s Trade Fair at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago, in June. In addition, MechoShade’s SunDialer was recognized with an award for Innovation in the competition.
Gold-winner UrbanShade is offered in either manual or motorized versions. The manual version delivers smooth operation with a continuous bead chain. The motorized is battery powered with RTS wireless remote control.
MechoShade’s SunDialer is an advanced automated shade system that provides an effective, science-based solar-tracking system in a competitively priced package. It is configured to provide the maximum amount of daylight harvesting for a building. It enables a building to foster the attributes and cost benefits associated with daylighting, such as:
- Increased energy savings.
- Added comfort by reducing solar-heat gain, brightness, and glare.
- Maximum natural daylight to decrease the need for ambient lighting.
SunDialer includes the solar-tracking logic of SolarTrac, MechoShade’s Window Management system. It is housed in a container half the size of a cigar box.
The Best of NeoCon product competition is sponsored by Contract Magazine; IIDA (International Interior Design Association); IFMA (International Facility Management Association); MMPI (The Merchandise Mart); and the McMorrow Report.
