NeoCon’11: BBF announces its first U.S. Navy blanket purchase agreement for case goods

by Ann Withanee — June 24, 2011—Bush Business Furniture (BBF), a global manufacturer of case goods office furniture and the commercial division of Bush Industries, announces it has been awarded its first Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the Department of the Navy (N00189-11-A-0118). Beginning June 1, 2011, BBF is approved to sell to the U.S. Navy within the Continental U.S.

Bush Business made the announcement during the NeoCon World’s Trade Fair that takes place annually in June at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Bush made the announcement from its showroom in the Mart, where it displayed BBF commercial furniture product lines, including those approved for government contracting (GS-28F-0040V).

This five-year BPA enables BBF to compete for Navy contracts in two categories: 1) Worksurfaces, Workstations, Computer Furniture and Accessories (711 2); and 2) Filing and Storage Cabinets, Shelves, Mobile Carts, Dollies, Racks and Accessories (771 3). BBF will be on the first-call vendor list and will be able to respond to RFQs (requests for quotes) throughout the country to fulfill the Navy’s office furnishing requirements.

“It’s been an exciting year since we rebranded our commercial division as BBF. The Navy BPA opens BBF to even more sales opportunities in a market in which we’ve never competed previously,” said Jim Sherbert, CEO of Bush Industries. “This designation is further confirmation that BBF is recognized more and more as a trusted source of reliable, durable and attractive commercial-grade office furnishings.”
