by Ann Withanee — June 24, 2011—Partners Boss Design and Tayco introduce Tokyo, the latest extension to the Serif collection. Taking its styling and form from the design-led collection, Tokyo offers a superior level of comfort owing to its sprung frame, use of CMHR foam, and ergonomic seat construction. It was unveiled during the NeoCon World’s Trade Fair at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago.

The Tokyo chair is also available with a highly sophisticated quilted linear stitch detail, creating a striking feature for the chair, elevating its executive appeal. Its smooth flowing form creates a self-assured presence, while its sprung frame guarantees a relaxed sitting experience. Its fine-seam patterned upholstery and striking sleek chrome arms demonstrate all the design-led hallmarks of Boss Design.

Tokyo has been designed with the user and the environment in mind. Boss Design considers the environmental credentials of the entire product life cycle of the Tokyo chair from using components with the highest possible recycled content through to ensuring that at the end of its life it can be 100 percent recycled.

“Tokyo has been well received by the Architect and Design community in the U.K. and abroad,” says International Business Manager for Boss Design, Andy Watson. “The chair has to date been specified on a number of high-profile projects that have include HSBC, Ernst & Young, Barclays and Jaguar.”

“The Tokyo chair has also seen success in the hospitality sector, and it has been purchased for home office seating,” says Tayco’s Director of Sales, Kevin Philips of Tokyo’s North American success. “This chair has appeal that extends way beyond the office environment.”

Packaging on the Tokyo chair is recyclable, and it is CFC & HCFC Free. These achievements have helped Boss Design become a carbon-neutral company, BS EN ISO 14001 Climate neutral, FSC accredited, and to be awarded with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development.
