by Ann Withanee — June 15, 2011—Halcon’s MOTUS conferencing collection was awarded the Best of Competition and a Gold in the category Tables: Training & Work in the Best of NeoCon product award program. The award was made by a distinguished jury composed of design and facilities professionals during NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2011. Halcon calls MOTUS a revolutionary conferencing solution for elegant corporate spaces.
Designed by George Miller-Ramos, James Lawrence, and Mark Von Der Heide, the collection of adaptable folding tables and mobile accessories allows effortless transformation from boardroom to flexible multi-use space.
“The concept was to create easily reconfigurable conferencing without compromising executive-level aesthetics,” says Ben Conway, Executive Vice President, Halcon. “You would never suspect that MOTUS is mobile while in use, which is unique in today’s marketplace.”
MOTUS also delivers a truly innovative user interface, says Halcon. The functional elements of table ganging, caster locking, leveling, and power/data distribution have all been thoughtfully designed and engineered to simplify the user experience. According to Fred Poisson, Vice President of Design, “The aesthetics are clean, minimal, modern and timeless. The simple forms of MOTUS entirely belie the function and flexibility hidden within.”
The Best of NeoCon competition is sponsored by Contract Magazine, Merchandise Mart Properties Inc., The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), The International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and McMorrow Report.com.
