by Ann Withanee — June 20, 2011—The HON Company is dialing up the design of Ignition, its star seating solution and a leader in the commercial market, with the added option of a polished aluminum finish on the arms and base. The new offering, which yields a more upscale styling, was displayed at NeoCon, in HON’s showroom at the Chicago Merchandise Mart.

“The degree of sophistication that polished aluminum adds opens the door to another level of end-user prospects who are seeking a high-style aesthetic but at a reasonable value,” said Mark Roumfort, The HON Company’s vice president of product development. “When we introduced Ignition in 2009, it came out of the gate to rave reviews and since then, continues to be a best-seller,” he added. “It’s an ongoing practice at The HON Company to diligently listen to customer feedback, or what we call Voice of the Customer, and we were hearing that there was an opportunity to take this next incremental step with Ignition.”

In building on the success of Ignition, which was designed by world-renowned industrial designer Wolfgang Deisig, The HON Company is remaining faithful to its original goals to create a seating series that fits every person, job, and space in the office, no matter the body type, work style, or design environment. The versatile collection of executive, conference, work, task, guest and lounge seating fits in all areas of the office, while The HON Company’s broad choice of textiles complements all looks, whether traditional or contemporary.
