by Ann Withanee — June 22, 2011—Nemschoff, a Herman Miller Healthcare Company, won a Gold Award for Oasis in the Best of NeoCon product competition. In the Healthcare Furniture Category, Oasis is an overbed table in a simple design. The award was given during NeoCon 2011, held annually at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago.
Oasis has compartments dedicated to specific items, from food trays and water pitchers to medication dispensers and patients’ personal effects—those items that can crowd standard overbed surfaces. By providing separate spaces for common and personal items, it allows for maximum use of space. Trays can be added or removed as required.
With curved lines and adjustable components, Oasis is designed for comfort and functionality. Offered in a variety of surface laminates and urethane edge options, both from Nemschoff’s expansive color palette, it can be easily customized to match its environment. A rounded steel base and finished underside complete the utilitarian design.
Engineered for years of use, Oasis features easy-to-clean laminate and molded urethane edges. A steel insert edge support ensures durability while the base, available in both two base options, provides structural stability. It comes with a lifetime warranty.
Nemschoff applied its Design for the Environment protocol to the development and manufacture of Oasis, which is pending GreenGuard certification. Oasis is manufactured in facilities that use 100 percent wind or other alternative energy. It is delivered with blanket-wrapped shipping to reduce packaging.
