New Cemtrex CO2 sensors can save energy

by Rebecca Walker — March 4, 2009—Cemtrex Inc. has added a new line of carbon dioxide sensors to its portfolio of gas sensing instruments. The CDS 300 CO2 Sensor is the key element in applying Demand Control Ventilation (DCV), a technique that provides the precise amount of ventilation for the number of people occupying a space at a given time. Implementing this practice into commercial buildings creates energy savings on average of 26%, says the company.

In part because of the federal government’s newly approved stimulus package, energy efficiency programs are high on the to-do list. The market for carbon dioxide sensors has grown by 80% due to the numerous incentives that have been created to help incorporate energy efficiency practices into buildings, including rebates for the purchase of sensors and on total kilowatt reduction on a yearly basis.

“By introducing these CO2 sensors, we have expanded our energy efficiency portfolio to tap into this growing market. The CDS 300 combined with our Green DCV system positions Cemtrex to effectively address growing market needs for energy efficiency products,” says Saagar Govil, Cemtrex’s Product Manager for their Energy Efficiency Product line.

Cemtrex Inc. is a worldwide market leader in manufacturing and selling the most advanced instruments for emission monitoring of particulate, opacity, mercury, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, etc. and filtration products for the industry.
