New CMiC On Demand provides integrated software as a service for the construction industry

by Rebecca Walker — May 15, 2009—CMiC, a leader in providing software solutions for the architectural, engineering and construction industry (AEC), has unveiled what it says is the first integrated software as a service for the construction industry, called CMiC On Demand.

Utilizing a technologically advanced cloud-computing platform, CMiC On Demand allows AEC companies to employ the fully integrated CMiC software solution without a major investment into IT resources, says the company.

“CMiC On Demand comes at a perfect time for the AEC industry,” said Bassem Hamdy, vice president, solutions, CMiC. “With the current economic conditions, companies are looking for methods to reduce costs and still maintain a competitive edge. Because it is software as a service, CMiC On Demand doesn’t cost overhead to use and can be up and running in a short period. And, with CMiC’s integrated approach, companies can eliminate support payments by eliminating multiple software vendors. CMiC On Demand changes the way software is used in the industry.”

Return on investment studies have shown that integrating all aspects of a business, including financials and project management, with CMiC will reduce overheads costs by up to 70 percent. By using CMiC and eliminating multiple software vendors, software support payments can be significantly reduced, company officials say.
