New Internet site offers instant access to International Codes

by jbs111308c3 — November 17, 2008—The 2006, 2003, and 2000 editions of the International Codes, standards, and more than 300 related documents are now available on the Internet at www.eCodes.biz along with tools to support code users. The Premium eCodes feature allows users to print, search, compare documents, and even customize options to meet specific needs.

The Web portal—developed by the International Code Council and Citation Technologies, Inc.—provides access to the Code Council’s collection of codes and standards for building safety and fire prevention professionals. Code Council members and nonmembers can select international, state, and locally adopted codes and standards instantly online.

The new Premium eCodes is cost-effective and integrates codes and standards into a single, online library format. Safe buildings are achieved through proper design and construction practices in concert with a code administration program that ensures compliance, notes the Council, which develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings.
