by Brianna Crandall — September 9, 2013—A new online gallery features hospital design projects from around the world, serving as both an inspiration and a resource to leaders planning the next generation of healthcare facilities. The Web site is the newest of three components that make up the Architecture for Health Showcase, a program managed by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association (AHA).
The Architecture for Health Showcase includes:
- An on-site gallery of projects at two ASHE conferences: the ASHE Annual Conference and the International Summit and Exhibition on Health Facility Planning, Design and Construction
- The Architecture for Health Showcase Compendium, a booklet that is given each year to all CEOs of AHA member facilities
- The new online gallery of projects
The new online gallery allows users to browse projects or to sort them by location or by the firm responsible. The descriptions and contact information included serve as useful resources as leaders plan future projects. The site also contains information for architectural firms to submit projects for inclusion in the Showcase.
“The Architecture for Health Showcase has long been a valuable resource for hospitals, but the addition of the online gallery expands the program to reach more professionals responsible for the planning, design, and construction of healthcare facilities,” said ASHE Executive Director Dale Woodin, CHFM, FASHE.
