by Shane Henson — June 22, 2011—Acuity Brands Inc., an energy-efficient lighting and control solutions provider, announced it has expanded its LED indoor ambient lighting portfolio with the launch of the Lithonia Lighting VTLED luminaire. The VTLED is a high-quality, volumetric fixture designed to bring the advantages of LED lighting to an expanded set of applications and budgets. It joins the RTLED, ACLED and TLED as part of Lithonia Lighting’s versatile recessed LED indoor ambient lighting product family.
The VTLED’s design has a classic and versatile aesthetic appearance, making it ideal for office, retail, education, healthcare and other general-purpose illumination environments, Acuity designers say. Engineered with all of the energy-saving advantages of LED light sources, the VTLED also reduces maintenance costs and downtime compared to standard fluorescents by delivering up to 50,000 hours of light, and improves overall productivity by reducing lamp replacement. Full-range (0-10V) dimming is also standard. As an added advantage, the VTLED comes enabled with Acuity Brands’ nLight intelligent controls interface to allow additional energy savings.
The product is available in a 2’x2′ configuration with a 2200 or 3200 lumen package and a 2’x4′ configuration delivering 4600 lumens, with an efficacy of up to 96 lumens per watt.
