by Shane Henson — January 1, 2014—OnSSI, a provider of products and technologies designed to increase building security, recently announced that it has integrated its Ocularis video management software with Code Blue Corporation’s Help Points emergency communication devices to allow users to instantly and seamlessly manage video surveillance images, access control data, fire alerts and emergency communication.

Ocularis, OnSSI’s flagship Internet protocol video surveillance and security platform, is a comprehensive video management system that combines powerful network video recorders with physical security information management functionality.

Code Blue’s Help Points emergency communication solutions can be found in thousands of education, corporate, hospital, airport and municipal locations worldwide.

According to OnSSI, the integration of the company’s two security solutions provides a simple yet powerful solution at the touch of a button. When an individual presses the emergency speakerphone button on a Help Point, the call is routed to Blue Alert EMS, Code Blue’s advanced event management software. That immediately triggers a notification to Ocularis, which security personnel then can use to best determine how to respond.

“Our clients want to have more control over and faster response from their security and surveillance systems in order to create a safer environment,” said Gadi Piran, president and chief technical officer (CTO) of OnSSI. “Working with Code Blue provides us with an opportunity to address these concerns with a sophisticated Ocularis integration solution.”
