by Brianna Crandall — August 31, 2015—Panasonic Eco Solutions of North America recently introduced WhisperFit EZ, an easy-to-install retrofit ventilation fan certified under the ENERGY STAR program. WhisperFit EZ enables installers to use the existing duct to quickly and easily replace an existing fan from below the ceiling.
Available in three models — non-lighted, lighted, and non-lighted with motion sensor — the WhisperFit EZ offers ultra-quiet performance and ease of installation. The WhisperFit EZ lighted model features a flush-mount grille with two 13W self-ballasted GU24 base CFL lamps, and comes with a 4-inch duct with 3-inch adapter.
Each model includes a built-in Pick-A-Flow speed selector that provides the ability to customize the airflow to meet the customer’s required ventilation needs (80 or 110 CFM) with the simple flip of a switch.
Easy installation
Installation is made simple with the Flex-Z Fast installation bracket, with articulating joints for positioning through a ceiling cavity. The detachable installation adapter provides even greater flexibility when wiring and attaching the duct.
The low-profile (5-5/8 inch) housing design easily fits in 2×6 construction, ensuring that WhisperFit EZ will fit in virtually any ceiling remodeling project, says Panasonic.
Motion sensor
WhisperFit EZ fan model FV-08-11VFM5 incorporates a SmartAction motion sensor with a 20-minute delay off timer that automatically activates the fan when someone enters the room.
Once the settings have been applied, the fan becomes truly automatic, making it suitable useful for families with young children, people with disabilities, hospitality, as well as assisted-living environments such as nursing homes and retirement communities.
Energy compliance
The WhisperFit models can be used to comply with ENERGY STAR 3.0, ASHRAE 62.2, LEED, IAP, California Title 24, and WA Ventilation Code.
