by Ann Withanee — December 15, 2010—Panduit announces the launch of its Physical Infrastructure Manager (PIM) Software Platform Version 4.0 for complete data center infrastructure management. Working with PanView iQ (PVIQ) System Hardware, and select third-party devices, the PIM Software Platform provides continuous, local, and remote visibility of connectivity, power usage, asset tracking and utilization, and environmental conditions within a data center in real time, says the company.
The PIM Software Platform Version 4.0 enables enterprises to reduce network system risks and applications downtime, lower operational costs, improve carbon footprints, and increase sustainability, says Panduit. By automating processes and documentation of all data, the release also assists with regulatory compliance and supports service level agreements (SLAs).
PIM is part of Panduit’s Unified Physical Infrastructure (UPI)-based solutions, which leverage an intelligent physical infrastructure as the foundation for enabling convergence across communication, computing, control, power, and security systems. These end-to-end solutions drive operational and financial advantages across the enterprise, allowing businesses to improve reliability, reduce costs, heighten agility, and support sustainability initiatives, says the company.
