July 18, 2003—PECO business customers now can project the approximate amount of their electric bill before it is received. Bill Estimator, PECOs new energy management tool, will provide commercial and industrial customers forward-looking and actual usage data detailing how energy dollars are spent.
PECO’s Bill Estimator brings predictability to budget-conscious businesses that are subscribers of PECO’s e-VALUATOR. With Bill Estimator companies can calculate their approximate energy costs during a period of time, compare energy costs under various PECO tariffed rates, and improve their budgeting capabilities by tracking energy usage in a particular facility or area of the company.
PECO e-VALUATOR is a Web-based energy analysis tool that retrieves usage data through automated meter reading (AMR) technology and enables Bill Estimator to create an estimated bill and display load profile usage information. With e-VALUATOR, customers can:
- Review half-hourly demand in aggregate or meter-by-meter, as well as compare usage to outside temperatures.
- Combine total electricity usage among accounts, meters and groups. This allows the user to see total electricity requirements across an entire facility or location, and “shop” individual energy usage patterns in the competitive marketplace.
- Compare average weekday load profiles with those at different facilities. This tool will help energy managers learn which facilities use electricity the most efficiently and share those “best practices” at other sites.
- Review current load levels to determine the most consistent operating consumption level. This gives businesses the ability to size an appropriate standby generator.
- Learn what time of day peak electricity demand occurs to determine if there are load-shifting strategies that might reduce monthly demand charges.
