by Shane Henson — December 7, 2012—Polargy Inc., a California-based provider of hot- and cold-aisle containment for data centers, has added the PolarPlex P2 Sliding Door to its suite of data center containment solutions, a product it expects facilities and data center managers to find both very convenient and easy to install.

According to Polargy, the PolarPlex P2 Sliding Door is the only adjustable-height door on the market, and allows data center and facilities managers to avoid the error-prone task of measuring racks of varying sizes and ordering doors to fit. The flexibility of the door ensures that the door is always in stock, shortening lead time.

The 54-inch-wide P2 door covers most four-foot aisles, and side extender panels can expand the aisle-width coverage up to nine feet. The door and side extender panels are adjustable in height from 79 to 89 inches, the company says.

Facilities and data center managers may also appreciate that the auto-close is standard on the doors, and a “hold open” kit is available and installs in seconds. Also, the door’s insert is field replaceable, making repairs quick and easy, adds Polargy.

In addition to the new PolarPlex P2 Sliding Door, the PolarPlex containment family includes drop-away panels for horizontal use below sprinkler heads, standard panels for vertical use, sliding aisle-end doors, swing doors, and soft-wall curtains.

According to Polargy, its products and solutions are installed in the data centers of some of the world’s most demanding technology companies, including Dell, Pixar and Verizon.
