by Brianna Crandall — July 28, 2014—Pristine Environments (PEI), provider of specialized facilities maintenance (FM) solutions throughout North America, recently announced it has secured two new facilities services contracts in Virginia—one covering First Potomac Realty Trust’s (FPO) entire Northern Virginia portfolio, and one supporting Harris Corporation’s new secure facility in Herndon.
First Potomac Realty Trust (FPO)
PEI has contracted with affiliates of First Potomac Realty Trust (FPO) to support facility operations in their entire 29-building Northern Virginia portfolio, to include four LEED-certified buildings and 3.4 million sq. ft. of real estate. PEI’s service delivery includes the implementation of its BLU high-performance green cleaning program and vendor management inventory (VMI), with particular attention being placed on standardizing process and procedures across the portfolio.
“From the presentation during the bidding process, to Pristine’s strategy plan for transitioning our 3.4 million sq. ft. portfolio, Pristine instilled total confidence in my team and delivered a seamless transition,” said First Potomac’s Director of Property Management Stacy Purdy-Lautar. The entire 29-building portfolio was transitioned on the same day after a detailed planning and transition period was facilitated by Pristine Environment’s Vice President of Operations—Eastern Region Kevin Jeffries and his team.
First Potomac Realty Trust is a self-administered, self-managed real estate investment trust that focuses on owning, operating, developing and redeveloping office and business park properties in the greater Washington, DC, region. The company’s consolidated portfolio totals some 8.7 million sq. ft. and consists of 54% office properties and 46% business park and industrial properties. With a stated commitment to sustainability, over one million square feet of First Potomac property is LEED-Certified, with the potential for another 700,000 sq. ft. in future development projects, and approximately half of the portfolio’s multistory office square footage is LEED or Energy Star certified.
Harris Corporation
Pristine Environments has also secured a long-term contract to support Harris Corporation’s new secure facility in Herndon, Virginia. The asset is leased and managed by Transwestern’s Northern Virginia group. PEI’s service delivery includes the implementation of its BLU high-performance green-cleaning program and a team of specialized personnel who can work in secure SCIF (sensitive compartmented information facility) environments.
The account is expected to grow PEI’s business in the specialized space of secure services. Kevin Jefferies, PEI’s vice president of operations for the Eastern region, will work closely with Tina Goad and other members of Transwestern’s property management team to oversee the successful operation of this contract.
