by Brianna Crandall — May 18, 2011—The Property Council of Australia has announced its 2011 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards from a field of over 100 finalists from across the country. The awards program provides an opportunity for the Australian property industry to acknowledge and showcase excellence in the built environment.
The high-profile ANZ Centre, located in Melbourne’s Victoria Harbour precinct, won the Australian Development of the Year Award. ANZ’s global headquarters is the largest single tenanted commercial building in Australia, delivering a net area of 83,550sqm. Designed to deliver the best possible environmental outcomes for air, water, energy and waste management, the project includes an underfloor air distribution system, Quiet Revolution wind turbines, a significant reduction in the number of car parking spaces provided, and a blackwater system that significantly reduces water usage.
