by Brianna Crandall — July 8, 2015—The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM), the authority on retail, multi-site facilities management, recently released its 2015 Best Practices book of retail facilities management case studies to help the industry improve the bottom line at retail stores, by strategically driving efficiencies through effective retail facilities maintenance business practices.
This year’s compilation includes case studies from more than 50 suppliers and retailers, including Rite Aid Corporation, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, Nike, Ferrandino & Son, The Pantry, ServiceNational Canada and Sears Holding Corporation, reflecting convenience, specialty, apparel and department stores, from big- to small-box format.
Noted in this year’s edition is the increased need to develop repeatable practices to standardize work flow and enhance relationships at the supplier partner level. Efforts to document and refine processes are evident in case studies that focus on lighting and heating/ventilation/air-conditioning (HVAC) retrofits, floor care maintenance and asset management and disaster response planning.
“This publication allows facility management professionals to learn from each other and very much illustrates the resourcefulness of our members,” said Patricia Dameron, Executive Director, PRSM Association. “All it takes is one cost-saving idea to change how we all view a challenge. PRSM is appreciative of this year’s sponsor, Rose Paving, for recognizing the value of this year’s edition.”
“Sharing best practices is essential to the evolution of our industry. The newest Best Practices book is a platform for new ideas to be shared, new practices to be developed, and new solutions to transform old ways of doing business,” said Michael Condon, director of sales, Rose Paving Company, sponsor of the 2015 Best Practices Book.
