Purchasing Platform launches Web-based procurement solution for real estate industry

by Shane Henson — May 8, 2013—Purchasing Platform, a Chicago-based procurement company focused on the real estate industry, recently announced the launch of both the company and its inaugural Web platform.

The new Web application aggregates the buying power of real estate operators to provide an extremely low-cost and centralized marketplace for the purchasing needs of both property managers and corporate staff, says Purchasing Platform. Its centralized marketplace allows property operators to purchase anything needed to effectively manage their assets. The company’s employees continually evaluate the best products in each category, so property managers are not overwhelmed by countless repetitive products.

According to Purchasing Platform, the launch of this Web-based tool allows the company to begin serving an industry in need of a centralized purchasing solution. After leading asset management for a $3 billion real estate investment firm, the company’s CEO, Peter Hepner, created Purchasing Platform to eliminate many of the challenges associated with self-managed procurement.

“There are so many purchasing needs facing real estate operators, and fulfilling those needs is a monumental task for any company,” Hepner said. “Purchasing Platform is eliminating procurement hassles by entering into contracts directly with vendors, using the collective buying power of its member companies to drive pricing lower, and providing the products and services in a single marketplace.”

The Purchasing Platform launch includes a wide array of curated products that will continue to grow over time.
