by Jbs030510 f3 — March 8, 2010—PURE Bioscience recently announced the launch of two disinfectant products based on PURE’s patented silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC) antimicrobial technology, reportedly the first new disinfectant active ingredient to be registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in more than 30 years.

Unlike traditional alcohol- or bleach-based surface disinfectants, the two products require no hazard or warning statements and carry bacterial kill times from 30 seconds to two minutes, compared with 10 minutes for competing products, says PURE. The products continue to kill bacteria for up to 24 hours after usage; yet, with their EPA Category IV toxicity rating—the lowest classification—they are also labeled for use in sensitive children’s areas.

Independent laboratory studies indicate that the two disinfectants with SDC technology are fast acting and effective at eliminating potentially health-threatening pathogens, such as: MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), CA-MRSA, PVL-MRSA and VRE (Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium); Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Salmonella enteric; Human Corona virus (SARS surrogate) and Rotavirus; and Norovirus, Human Influenza A and Avian Influenza A (Bird Flu).

Enviro-Solutions’ ready-to-use ES360 disinfectant product offers broad-based microbial efficacy for use in such environments as business and office facilities, educational and healthcare settings, day care centers, and government agencies.

IV-7 Ultimate Germ Defense is an advanced, broad-spectrum disinfectant that Richmont Sciences is marketing with initial emphasis on the institutional, janitorial and sanitation markets. This new antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal product is available in three-ounce, 32-ounce and one-gallon bottles, as well as in larger quantities. IV-7 can be used to kill germs on hard surfaces in a wide variety of settings, such as homes, offices, schools, hospitals, medical and dental clinics, restaurants, hotels, animal shelters, public facilities and many more.
