by Shane Henson — September 23, 2011—QA Graphics, an industry leader in providing graphic solutions for the building controls industry, has announced the expansion of their 3D Equipment Library, which offers a collection of high-end 3D models to represent the actual mechanical equipment in place at a facility.

QA Graphics’ 3D Equipment Library includes models that accurately represent mechanical equipment from popular product lines like York, Carrier, Trane, McQuay, Liebert, Ingersoll, Baltimore Aircoil Company, Buderus, Cleaver Brooks, Murray and AAON. Now, eleven new models have been added to the collection, including chillers, rooftop units, an air handling unit and several electrical components, totaling over 55 graphics in the library, including air compressors, boilers, cooling towers, air handing units, rooftop units, generators, pumps, electrical and other miscellaneous components.

Facilities managers can incorporate the additional 3D equipment graphics into their existing building automation system software to more accurately represent facility equipment and aid in the management of their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The graphics provide detailed cutaways with more animations and detail than are typically provided with BAS software.

The 3D models can be purchased individually with major equipment available for $350 and minor equipment for $200. Each graphic is provided for unlimited use and will be custom watermarked.

According to QA Graphics, the library will continue to expand, with water system equipment, tanks, a fuel oil system, and other common system graphics coming soon.
