by Brianna Crandall — November 16, 2012—Creative design company QA Graphics, provider of the award-winning Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard (EEED) and other interactive applications for sustainability, has introduced two new affordable packages allowing organizations of all sizes to take advantage of the EEED educational solution to promote sustainability and inform occupants and the public about their sustainable initiatives.

QA Graphics works with organizations of all types including businesses, schools, universities, restaurants, government, healthcare, etc., to provide custom Energy Efficiency Education Dashboards that are used to inform occupants and the public about sustainable building practices. Through education and real-time building performance feedback, occupants can gain insight on how their actions impact the building. This can motivate everyone to make behavior changes and help lower operating costs.

QA Graphics has created two base packages to provide an affordable option for organizations to incorporate the EEED with their sustainable initiatives. Both include two interactive demonstrations selected from QA Graphics’ stock demos, which illustrate how different building features work, such as day lighting, geothermal systems, green rooms, wind turbines and more.

The interactive education package for $6,375 includes:

  • Custom Design
  • Two Interactive Demonstrations
  • Building Scorecard (LEED checklist, CHPS, Green Globes, etc.)
  • Green Features
  • Interactive Quiz
  • Green Tips
  • Weather Widget

The interactive education plus live data package for $10,575 includes all of the above features plus a Building Performance Page. This includes screens for up to three utilities (such as gas, water, electric), with a chart displaying historical use data (in hourly, daily, weekly, monthly increments) and a gauge displaying instantaneous demand data.

The Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard can be deployed via touchscreens or kiosks onsite, on the Web, and on mobile devices. To display real-time building data, the solution integrates with existing building automation systems and does not require custom software. A variety of features may be added, like news feeds, calendar, menu, area attractions, sponsor information, school curriculum and other custom solutions, allowing the dashboard to be used for all display needs.

QA Graphics says its solution has a number of competitive features that separate it from others in the market. Using the EEED for occupant awareness complements the traditional energy management system. It is not performing the monitoring, but taking the data that is already available and presenting it in a way so that it is more visual and easy to understand for educational purposes, explains the company.

The Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard also contributes towards satisfying points under green building certification programs, such as the U.S. Green Building Council’s Innovation in Design Green Education and Innovation in Design School as a Teaching Tool credits under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program; a variety of points under The Green Building Initiative’s Green Globes green building rating and assessment system; and various credits under the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS).
