Quality Attributes Software launches advanced energy and resource management system

by Shane Henson — December 14, 2012—Quality Attributes Software (QAS), a facility data management company specializing in energy management and sustainability, has released a new energy management software system that gives facilities managers the ability to monitor every aspect of a building’s operations.

Called IntelliFace, the software system can interface with any type of existing system or platform in any format or language, says QAS. This cloud application has the ability to collect limitless end-to-end “real data” from all measurable resources within a facility and then manage, analyze and store it. This highly intelligent application reportedly has the ability to process millions of data points in seconds and then adjust the data sets in real time. The graphic presentations present an x-ray view of the energy flow of the building, measuring the energy usage for optimum analysis and management.

“This is critical to really understanding if a building is running efficiently and if it isn’t, seeing exactly where the problems are and what needs to be done,” says Nico Willis, CEO of QAS.

IntelliFace also provides an analysis of energy and resource performance, identifying trends as well as issues needing to be addressed. With geographic flexibility, monitoring multiple buildings at once or even several locations around the world is easily done, says QAS.

Part of the resource management equation is engaging the occupants and visitors in the goals and practices of the facility, notes QAS. IntelliFace has a very effective tool called the GreenTouchscreen that is designed to educate occupants, raise their awareness and influence behavior. The GreenTouchscreen presents the features of a facility and its progress toward sustainable practices on an interactive touchscreen displayed in public area of the facility. Using live data, this rich, visual display informs, educates and motivates occupants to help in the efforts toward sustainability, the company says.
