Refinishing Touch selected by InterContinental Hotels to help cut environmental impact

by AF 0721 j5 — July 24, 2009—The Refinishing Touch, a world leader in on-site environmentally safe furniture refinishing, armoire conversions, and re-upholstery to public and private organizations, has been selected as a supplier by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).

The Refinishing Touch has embarked on a series of projects to help IHG reduce waste by converting armoires to allow for new widescreen televisions to be installed in rooms at some of its properties. At two Staybridge Suites properties, IHG’s upscale extended stay brand, The Refinishing Touch has thus far completed the modification of 182 armoires and refinished them to ensure the quality is as-new.

Other conversion projects include 91 armoire conversions and refinishing for the Holiday Inn hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as 199 armoire conversions for the Holiday Inn hotel Airport West Palm Beach in Florida.

Additionally, The Refinishing Touch has plans with IHG for the completion of several new projects within its brands throughout 2009 and into 2010.

IHG is committed to demonstrating environmental responsibility, and has received the National Business Travel Association Award for Corporate Responsibility in 2009. The Refinishing Touch was awarded the U.S. General Services Administration Evergreen Award for innovative environmentally friendly practices.
