Both ServiceMagic and Resource Nation conduct a screening process with vendors as they join their respective networks. For ServiceMagic, contractors go through an extensive pre-screening process that includes verification of licensing, insurance and business filing in addition to a criminal and civil background check. With Resource Nation, a search is done using a third party credit check through Experian. If a report is available for the vendor, those vendors will have a “prescreened” mark next to their contact information.
