by Shane Henson — September 6, 2013—Rubber-Cal Inc. recently launched its newest eco-friendly rubber flooring product, the “Zcycle” recycled rubber flooring, suitable for building owners and facilities managers seeking durable flooring that has the added benefit of being eco-friendly.
The new product is made from 100 percent recycled rubber and tire crumb, and is long lasting due to its material source. Vehicle tires are manufactured to endure the sun’s rays, ozone, excessive moisture, and other abrasion, notes Rubber-Cal, so they are a cost-effective option because they offer a unique resistance to all kinds of weathering, wear, and tear. The Zcycle is best suited for areas that need floors that can withstand industrial wear and foot-traffic, such as garages, gyms, and basements. It is currently available in both rolls and interlocking tiles.
“It is highly affordable and is ideal for rubber flooring’s most popular uses,” adds Salvador Solis, a brand manager at Rubber-Cal. “Its speckled look and durability are qualities that are going to have a massive appeal, especially to the fitness industry.”
The Zcycle is the newest offering in the company’s vast line of Recycled Rubber Flooring, a product line that sits well with consumers of all types, many of whom are coming to expect businesses to look for innovative ways to become more sustainable. According to Rubber-Cal, many tires are sent to landfills, where they languish for years. Reusing tires and valuable resources allows Rubber-Cal’s rubber flooring to help the environment and provide businesses with less expensive, tough, and durable products.
