Rubbermaid unveils modular recycling system

by Brianna Crandall — October 30, 2015—Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP), part of Newell Rubbermaid’s global portfolio of leading brands, introduced a Custom Design Portal for users to create commercial-grade, decorative refuse containers, and unveiled the Configure recycling system, part of its Decorative Refuse product line, at the 2015 ISSA/INTERCLEAN tradeshow in Las Vegas last week.

Custom Design Portal

The company identified an opportunity to invest in technology that provides customizable product offerings with a breadth of choice in merchandise, color, material and finish. The Custom Design Portal is an online tool that allows users to create commercial-grade, decorative refuse containers to fit their space and design aesthetic.

This easily accessible and intuitive tool allows for visualization of the custom product, easy online ordering and expedited production. According to Rubbermaid, there are over 250 colors, materials and patterns, and more than 100 designs, styles and shapes to choose from.

The Configure modular recycling system supplies a tailored recycling solution for any front-of-house commercial space.

In conjunction with the portal, RCP introduced Configure, a made-to-order modular recycling system that can be tailored to complement the design of any commercial environment. Customers can select from different receptacle sizes, color options and on-trend finishes, and can insert graphic and logo options.

To accommodate unique waste needs, seven waste-stream label selections and four lid openings are modular options. Configure also features an easy-access front door that allows for ergonomic emptying of waste, and a magnetic connection that keeps containers arranged in an order that best fits the space.

Configure will join Rubbermaid’s current Decorative Refuse portfolio, with plans to introduce new innovations over the next several years.

Other new products

In addition, RCP showcased new washroom odor neutralizers, the TCell 2.0 and the LumeCel Microburst 3000, as well as the Slim Jim Step-On refuse container, BRUTE refuse container, Executive Series Quick Cart and X-Cart, and the Maximizer Mop at this year’s show.
