by Rebecca Walker — April 4, 2011 —Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc. has selected FM Facility Maintenance to handle facility maintenance for its more than 200 corporate-owned locations in both the U.S. and Canada.
The agreement allows Safety-Kleen to centralize maintenance activity in order for facilities to operate more efficiently and receive top-quality service, while reducing costs.
“In today’s highly competitive business environment, being able to simultaneously reduce costs, improve maintenance and allow our employees to focus even greater attention on customer service, rather than maintenance issues, almost sounds too good to be true,” said Dave Eckelbarger, Safety-Kleen executive vice president for supply chain. “But we believe that is exactly what our contract with FM will do, so we see this as a sound business opportunity that can help increase the bottom line.”
FM Facility Maintenance will be responsible for Safety-Kleen’s maintenance operations, including conveying equipment, HVAC, fire protection, plumbing and electrical services, and repair of specialty access equipment such as overhead doors and security gates. Additionally, FM’s tracking and reporting will identify opportunities for continuous operational and financial improvement
FM Facility Maintenance also provides facility maintenance services for other top brands, including Outback Steakhouse, 7-Eleven and Dollar General. The addition of Safety-Kleen to its client roster makes FM one of the largest facility maintenance companies in North America.
FM Facility Maintenance is a leading provider of facility management for clients with multisite restaurant and retail locations in the United States. For more information, see the Web site.
