SAIC, C3 team up to deliver integrated energy management solutions for commercial, industrial and government customers

by Brianna Crandall — January 30, 2012—SAIC Energy, Environment & Infrastructure, a wholly owned subsidiary of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), and C3, an energy and emissions management software provider, have announced a comprehensive strategic alliance to deliver fully integrated energy solutions to commercial, industrial, and government customers throughout North America.

Building on an alliance formed in 2011, the extended relationship between SAIC and C3 includes joint product development, sales, marketing, and support. Under the agreement, SAIC will sell, install, and support C3 software as an integrated component of its energy services offerings.

Advancing the market beyond the current state of offering stand-alone software applications from one provider, and professional services offerings from a variety of others, the new alliance pre-integrates C3’s advanced software with SAIC’s expert services in design, build, financing, and project management to create end-to-end energy management solutions, thus enabling faster implementation and quickly delivering bottom-line benefits to customers.

The joint solutions available from SAIC and C3 span a broad range of offerings, from strategy to project execution; each represents a combination of SAIC’s extensive portfolio of energy services and C3 Energy and Emissions Management software:

  • Strategic Energy Positioning: Services and software to provide market analysis, energy forecasting, financial incentives management, procurement and hedging strategies, as well as financing resources to move projects forward, including performance based contracts.
  • Practical Energy Solutions: Services and software to identify, design, build, and commission energy- and emissions-related projects.
  • Project Integration and Management: Services and software for aggregation, normalization, and management of energy-related data, comparative benchmarking, energy audits, analytically-driven mitigation project identification and management, verification, ROI analysis, and the associated project financing.

“With revenues of $1.2 billion and more than 5,000 employees focused on our energy, environment, and infrastructure business, SAIC has decades of experience in delivering substantial savings through energy management, project financing, and project execution. C3 provides a comprehensive software solution that helps organizations to more deeply understand and better manage their energy effectiveness,” said J.T. Grumski, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. “The combined offering from SAIC and C3 will provide commercial, industrial, and government customers with a single source for complete, integrated energy solutions, resulting in lower cost, faster time to value, and reduced risk.”

SAIC and C3 presented their joint offering at DistribuTECH 2012 in San Antonio in January.
