by Rebecca Walker — November 28, 2008—The Shaw Group Inc. announced its Environmental & Infrastructure Group has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for architect-engineering services by the US Postal Service (USPS). The value of Shaw’s contract, which will be included in the company’s first quarter fiscal 2009 backlog of unfilled orders, was not disclosed.
Under the contract, Shaw will perform investigative surveys, as well as design and construction administration services, to a broad range of USPS facilities in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. The scope of work will include underground storage tank consulting, hazardous waste management, indoor air quality investigations, environmental health and safety support, environmental assessments and environmental impact statements.
