Sitescapes launches bright, fluid Barristro site furnishings collection

by Brianna Crandall — March 20, 2013—Site furniture manufacturer SiteScapes Inc. has just announced the Barristro Collection, a modular series of chairs, ottomans, and complementary bike posts. The Barristro collection is the result of a collaboration between SiteScapes and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Architecture department. In the fall of 2011, SiteScapes proposed a product design competition to the student chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIAS). A judges’ panel comprised of university faculty, local area landscape architects, and SiteScapes executives unanimously decided the winner.

Designed by Justin Brouillette, the Barristro collection was proposed as a small family of like-minded urban furnishings with an array of uses and users in mind. The collection’s fluid geometry allows for modular pieces to interact in interesting and unique ways. The collection has a recycled material content of 99 percent, of which 87 percent is post-consumer content, and all styles are 100 percent recyclable.

Barristro Café Seating comes in both backed and backless styles. The backed chairs provide comfortable individual space seating that can be arranged to form a unique space. The backless chairs can double as end tables or foot rests, and provide additional ways to personalize an outdoor space. Both come in either powdercoat or Duracoat finish, and in a variety of colors: onyx, cobalt, forest, brandy, ivory, sterling, slate, bronze and pearl.

Barristro Bike Racks are designed to be “a beautiful way to provide bike security” to a project in a style that is complementary to the Barristro seating. According to SiteScapes, these bollard-style racks are extremely space efficient, allowing them to be positioned in almost any small space. Locks and cables can be threaded through the interior sleeve to provide bike security with a unique design aesthetic. The racks can be embedded or surface mounted, and come in powdercoat, Duracoat, or galvanized finishes, with the same color options as the seating.

The complementary bike bollards are extremely space efficient, and come in the same variety of color options as the seating.
