by AF 1021 f3 — October 23, 2009—Siemens Building Technologies Division has introduced Siveillance Fusion, a holistic security management system that combines access control, video surveillance and intrusion protection on a single platform.
Using the existing IT infrastructure and .NET Framework, Siveillance Fusion allows for complete interoperability, according to the company. The platform provides a complete overview and control of a corporation’s daily security operations and ensures situational awareness.
Siveillance Fusion is a flexible, scalable and user-friendly system that allows many applications. It is suited for both single sites and organizations with several subsidiaries, including worldwide operations. It can also interface with fire detection and building management systems.
The video management function ensures integration of analog and IP cameras for video streaming or network recordings, including the options of network video recording (NVR) and video management system (VMS). The digital video recorder (DVR) allows for recordings at different locations, which can be viewed locally or at any remote location, regardless of where the recordings were made.
Video systems can be easily linked to access control doors, for verifying the identification of people, for instance. The access control functionality protects doors and barriers, only granting access to authorized people at the right times. Should an issue occur, the reporting tool easily extracts the relevant information and delivers it along with visual evidence.
The centralized functions are completed by including intrusion protection, offering early detection of threats. Cameras, access readers and detectors can be placed as required, offering complete situational awareness.
