by Brianna Crandall — May 2, 2014—Facilities managers looking for a safe and inexpensive way to clean the windows, frames and exterior of buildings, particularly those with uneven surfaces, are advised to take a look at a new automated cleaner from Sky Pro, producer of self-contained, self-climbing, remote-controlled window and building washing equipment.

The newest model in Sky Pro’s product line of breakthrough technologies, the Sky Pro Mini Sprayer is engineered for cleaning windows and building exteriors on small to mid-height buildings using a pressure washer-based system similar to touchless carwash technology. A two-person operation can safely, quickly and profitably clean windows and building exteriors much more safely and easily than with manual window cleaning equipment, says Sky Pro.

This automated window-washing system uses high pressure water to “scrub” the surface from a distance of up to three feet. It is particularly suited for cleaning buildings with irregular window offsets, curves, recesses, overhangs, protrusions, inset glass, asymmetrical frames or other architectural features that make traditional cleaning methods difficult, if not impossible.

The Sky Pro Mini Sprayer weighs only 83 pounds and is made of lightweight aluminum, so it will not rust or corrode. The Mini Sprayer is reportedly easy to transport and fits easily into the back of a pickup truck. According to Sky Pro, the unit is simple to set up and ready to work in minutes.

Sky Pro says that architects, building owners, window-washing companies, building management and maintenance companies should consider investing in one of the many Sky Pro System models, since most models will pay for themselves in less than a year. The products are designed to eliminate the danger associated with manual window washing, and to reduce labor and insurance costs.

“Sky Pro is one of the most ingenious pieces of equipment to be made available to building owners, managers, and cleaning companies. It has reduced our cost of window cleaning services by approximately $50k per year. We have also been able to reduce our liability exposure by not having ‘bodies’ over the side of the building,” stated Robert Thomson, manager, Cassidy Turley Commercial Real Estate Services.
